They tried to make the world forget his name.

Edison invented the incandescent 'A' lamp.
Marconi invented the radio.

If people like these two can get so much credit and have their names all over the place, then why can't a man who has done so much more? If you were allowed to know this man's accomplishments, you would realize how insignificant that the work of Edison and Marconi would be.

Things may not always seem as they are, that's why open mindedness is so important. To wake up everyday to find a new truth that goes against what you already know, but as long as it's logical to you, it's fine to adjust views. My psychology instructor once said "A religious person will reject any new information that goes against their beliefs no matter how logical it is, but a scientist can be persuaded to new information as long as you can prove it to them strongly." I wonder whose really the 'religious believer' then? The scientist or the religious person.

Geniuses are often born in the wrong time and not appreciated by the right people.

North America Seminar in class

Made me go, "MAN I HAVE TO COSPLAY PIRATE UK, LIKE NOW" XD
and I kept smiling during the presentation cause I kept on thinking of Arthur, Alfred and Mattie all over lol the beautiful corruption of Hetalia ♥ (and Francis occasionally popped in of course XD)

Pirate UK

Francis trying to squeeze his way into the picture lol

It was hilarious when we were talking about some models made by Mrs. Thorn that were miniature rooms with elements of design for a certain period, our instructor was talking about how amazing that models were and were even more beautiful seeing them in real life at the museum in Chicago

"...the models now are behind bullet proof glass now"
"What? Would people go shoot them!?"
"Well, it's America, what can I say"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that made me go pfffft
Alfred, you need a better reputation, your people are too dangerous XD"

and I was ♥ when my instructor talked about the Revolution...
"And America really never did break apart from England...(in design styles)" >>selective hearing haha
UK x US WIN +_+ (okay it can be US x UK too, but slightly less love...XD)

American Revolution in my brain XD

Then it was less interesting as they started to talk about Canada in the end.../facepalms
(Well, it was interesting when they mentioned the 7 years war, but after that...yah...)
I'm sorry Mattie, but it wasn't as interesting as Alfred TvT /failCanadian
(plus it was presented by someone in my class I was pretty =_= about)
Even in the outline where it said North America in big words, there were little words after it that said "Includes Canada" just in case people forget...lol

7 Years' War
Reality: British army that captured Quebec in 1759...not so attractive
APH: Extremely attractive /nosebleeds

When we were talking about the interiors and the furnishings for the Early American times: America in the colonial period had a great deal of import in furniture from England but they also created some furniture pieces themselves too...

Table Chair

...looks like a transformer to me, I can't believe you thought about it so early already Alfred...and multi purpose furniture like that!? What were you thinking!? Do you love all in one so much!? Is that why you have Superman!? /shot

Oh, and more about the revolution, these were moments in my head:

France was an Allie to fight England = Francis and Alfred having some kind of intimate relationship between them
rejecting England = America as rebellious teenager?

Well...I'm sure Alfred has his reasons for wanting to part from England...
XDDDDDDDDD
(Arthur: Alfred! Let's bath together /nosebleeds rapidly
Alfred: I'm going to become independent...)

After the group's presentation, near the end of the review, the only main thing that I captured was the church in the Catch me if you can ending XDDDDD

As soon as my instructor mentioned that movie, she had my undivided attention LOL
Learned that the scene that our inspector captured our criminal wasn't in France but in Royal Place,  Québec (Church: Notre-Dame-des-Victoires)
Good stuff learned (one of my favorite movies) /shot

And to wrap up...another version of Catch me if you can /shot shot

Izaya & Shizu-chan from Drrr

(P.S. War and many things that happened in history were not glorious, the 7 years' war and American Revolution were bloody and many lives were lost due to the human ambition of conquering and gaining power, I am only fav-ing the history parody of Hetalia, and the relationship between the characters within this series. Don't take my views on here for the actual history of the world)

I'm a designer, not a decorator

DESIGNER!!! YOU MEAN DESIGNER, HOLMES!!!!

Really, interior design is a often misunderstood field
We don't just match colours and fluff up pillows, oh ho we do way more than that
Think of interior architect, way different from the typical vision eh? That's what we are

From Cafepress

Not always misunderstood, but often and quite frequent
Gets irritating sometimes, but to get the title of being an "Interior Designer" requires hard work
We earn our title not just claim it

Sry, that's just cuz Jude!Watson is too hot

Just disclaimer, everyone who knows me should get used to "SH", the shorten form of Sherlock Holmes lol

My family, knowing my obsession (hehehe) wanted to get me Jeremy Brett's (one of the best original Holmes ever ♥) Sherlock Holmes complete DVD Collection for my x-mas present. But then it was sold out during that time at Cosco...so sad ;A;

And so, I was looking on Chapters Indigo to compare the prices and maybe buy it for myself, then I LOL so hard when I saw this:

Sherlock: Season One by Benedict Cumberbatch (Benny!Sherlock)

Complete Sherlock Holmes Collection by Jeremy Brett (Brett!Holmes)

then...Sherlock Holmes Movie 09.......by Jude Law (Jude!Watson)

Depressed Robert Downey Junior LOL

PFFFFT...HAHAHAHA I feel sad for Robert Downey Jr
But I don't blame them, Jude!Watson is too hot ;D
so hot that so many just call him Hotson LOL

(As like anything in this blog, it's just my view of things)
Robert Downey Jr's version of Holmes was really different from many of the previous ones, he took all the traits of Holmes and gave it a new twist. For his appearance wise, it was rather different too, he must be one of the most non slender and short Holmes lol. No classy black attire, top hat, no combed back hair, he doesn't have the air of elegance of the typical British gentlemen and where are those SH sharp looks? I only see puppy eyes /shot

If I were to give try to explain the feeling, I would say Doyle's Holmes is more of the inner crazy kind that you usually can't judge until you see what he does, and RBJ!Holmes is the...outer and inner crazy kind...LOL you'd probably judge him as soon as you see him XD

If Doyle's Holmes was some kind of stunning black hound, RBJ!Holmes would be...I dunno, some type like the one Hotson owned in the movie? XDDDDDD oh, main trait is need big round eyes for sure haha

Anyhow, I like RBJ!Holmes, he's a very cute Holmes (and does the cuckoo side quite well), but I'm not in love, it's just that Benny!Sherlock and Brett!Holmes is more of my cup of tea ;D

Brett!Holmes in a tea cup, now that's my cup of tea XD hehe

And you know...it's hard to appreciate him too much when you put such a hot Watson beside him...
Hotson is so handsome, his profession seems more playboy than doctor to me
Man, if I had a doctor like that, I'd probably get a heart attack from too much hotness and die when he gives me a body check /shot shot

Dr. Hotson's playboy face oh yah B)

Orange Pekoe

The Name
When I first came across the tea name, I somehow memorized it as Orange Peacock instead...it took me awhile to have it corrected in my mind, but it still comes up floating around in my mind whenever I see the name. (totally irrelevant from the main purpose of this post lol)

The Tea
I hated it.
It seems to be quite a popular or at least common tea but I just somehow dislike the taste. When I received a packet of Orange Pekoe from Mel as a present, I kept it aside until I finally gave courage to try it (just cause it's from Mel) and after triumphantly brewing the hot tea in my favorite thermo glass tea cup...I couldn't stand the flavor after 2 or 3 sips and poured it down the drain...(I'm really sorry Mel OTZ in the end I brought it to school and put it into the class tea and coffee station in our classroom)

A long forgotten memory came to me, one of my exs used to brew Orange Pekoe whenever I came over. Especially when I stayed for dinner, I would most likely always be given a cup of Orange Pekoe afterwards. (since I'm a cup of tea after dinner person.) And I also remembered, how I would have the tea as soon as possible so the flavor is still not sunk in the hot waters (like a minute right after she put in the tea leaves). Then this thought came to me as I was pouring the tea down the drain, the Orange Pekoe she had was almost like her, not my cup of tea.

I sometimes find this disliking a weird thing, because my favorite tea is Earl Grey, and something so similar, Orange Pekoe, I dislike, makes me wonder if it's a mental thing. It's just like how I love Garlic chives and hate parsley, my mom would always remind me how weird that was, although to me, it seemed like a reasonable thing because the taste of the two herbs were quite distinctive to me.

Anyhow, just another small babble.

and plushies or all kinds of stuff on you :)

Brilliant little things

My best pal's b-day is coming up real soon, it's late to pick out gifts by this time, but there's just been tons of things going on OTZ. So, I stopped by Chapters today during lunch break and was lucky enough to find the perfect thing and couple of brilliant small things as well. (I won't post anything about the b-day present just in case Mel is reading this XD)

Just browsing

Deadly serious, beware LOL I had a great urge to buy these...but I've already got more than enough stickies floating around XD (and I went for something else that was even more awesome ;D)
For some reason, I really wanted to get this for your b-day gift Mel...but then, it looks deadly XD (I was quite curious if it really could break your jaw when I was little and I think I watched a scary movie related to this during that time as well that probably drew my attention to the candy in the first place lol)

The title just seemed appealing haha, reminds me of "Yes man"

Weekend: Harrison Springs & shopping in States

School already in week 12 of 14, no spring break but getting off way earlier than high schools and elementary, great bonus. Getting off 2 months before my trip to HK however does not mean complete freedom because there is money needed to be earned for my lovely trip. Hopefully I'll be able to get some AutoCAD (computer drafting) side jobs to gain those extra bucks. I really don't want to and is not suited to work in retails and restaurants again...OTZ

With almost only 2 weeks of school left, my two major seminars for the term is done and leaves me with more time to focus on the final project. After the stressful few weeks of cramming and getting both of those seminars done (was almost working at both of them at the same time), it was a real treat to get away from things. Spending the weekend at Harrison Springs and shopping at States for the weekend that just passed was awesome. Didn't do much, but just chilling and giving my brains a nice mental break was delightful.

Harrison Springs@Friday night & Saturday Afternoon

Mom randomly proposed going to Harrison springs a week earlier, and so we were there for one night on Friday after all my seminars were done with. Our "Kids night out package" included pizza dinner, breakie, one free movie and free use to the pools for a pretty decent price.  The package came with a room with two doubles, which was kinda tight for kids and parents to slip in together, but just for one night, and as a sorta family bonding movie pizza thing it was all good. (the pizza crust was as hard as thick cookies tho, was really a jaw work out and everyone gave up on eating the crust after one slice)

Our stay at Harrison springs was mostly just...swimming around in the spring pools haha. Well, yah, that's the main purpose people go there, but it would've been nice to have some time sketching the place or to take a walk around the small town to explore...but ah well, that can always be done on future visits with friends :)

I hated the dead cold whenever I left the pools but the hot waters were pure love ♥. The scenery around the hotel was beautiful and the breeze beside the sea was refreshing.

Shopping in States@Sunday

Wasn't a major shopping session, did more eating than buying lol
(We had McD's that morning too B) )
However I did manage to get a cute TH sweater that matches my grey TH bag I bought on boxing day and a new pair of daily boots, since my old leather ones were getting quite worn out.

Also this sweater reminds me of John's jumper ♥ (from BBC Sherlock)

The dark blue and white stripes are so cute and the cotton yarn is so comfortable ♥♥♥ The yarn is more loosely knitted tho, so it's more breathable~And as a plus, it has little white navy buttons on the top of the sweater kekeke (I swear I didn't buy this sweater just for the buttons :D)

Buttons alike~the white navy buttons and two other similar styles of buttons from my collection (spare buttons that came with new clothes or old buttons that came off old clothes)

Sweaters and interesting buttons are so much love ♥

Immaturity keeps me young.

"Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring." - Marilyn Monroe (Marilyn: Her life in her own words)
Boring, everyone can do. To be ridiculous, you've gotta have guts, cause you're not caring what other people think and grasping freedom to the extents.

It's nice to look stupid but happy, because a human's life is too short to hesitate or be boring, and thinking negatively definitely wastes time, unless it's good time wasted and you don't regret it.

"There are two ways to live: you can live as if nothing is a miracle; you can live as if everything is a miracle." - Albert Einstein
My way of doing that can make me seem quite of a retard at times...but at least I'm a happy retard? :D

LET'S ALL BE HAPPY RETARDS /SHOT
